Life is an adventure. Creation sings God’s story. As He weaves the threads of His grand story, He has given each of us a calling.

He has entrusted women with a glorious, but daunting, calling: to create a home for His glory.

When blessed with marriage, we are called to be the glory and delight of our husbands.

If the patter of small feet fill the home, our energy and sleep and even our bodies are sacrificed as we open a new world before the breathless delight of childhood.

As we experiment and create in the kitchen, we balance the competing claims of taste and health, convenience and cost.

In a single day a simple homemaker wears a dizzying array of hats: Chef. “Nurse“. Teacher. House cleaner. Confidant. Baker. Hair dresser. Friend. Interior decorator. Gardener. Therapist. Household steward.Worshipper.

Sometimes making a home is grueling work. It is always a grand adventure.

I seek to capture glimpses of that adventure here, in my little corner of the blogosphere.

Since I love making schedules, here’s my general blogging routine. (Though of course, making schedules and actually following them are two entirely different things!)

Tuesdays is for herbs, gardening and natural remedies. I share book reviews, remedies that worked for me and peaks into my garden. This year my goal is to assemble a natural remedy closet. Join me the last Tuesday of each month as I share updates.

Thursdays I co-host a Thrifty Thursday Link-Up with my friend Jenn (from The Purposeful Mom). We share frugal tips, thrifty-themed stories, inexpensive recipes, DIY projects and more! (After three years of law school with a growing family and minimal [now paid-off!!] student loans, thriftiness feels like an endless topic.)

Fridays is for ongoing series. Those subjects that would end up as a 2,500 word post get relegated to Fridays. Series include “How to Get Your Bachelor’s Degree for [Much] Less, in Less” (Joshua and I obtained accredited degrees for less than $5,000!) and “Our Old-Fashioned Love Story.”

Mondays and Wednesdays? Well, they’re for posts on mothering little ones, matters of the heart, building a family culture and the many other things that go into building a home.

The first and last weekdays of the month I share a new habit for the month and a progress update. Care to join me? If you blog, enter the Linky. If not, join in the comments!

…. in the rare case of a weekend post, it will probably be a recipe or quick (muddy?) peak into our week.

Making a home is truly a grand adventure! Thank you for joining me as I share glimpses into my adventure and things I’ve learned along the road.

HI! Finding your blog again via Raising Arrows. I read here before, but I took a bit of a blog hiatus last year and am only recently back online. Good to find my way back here, though!
