Life is an adventure. Creation sings God’s story. As He weaves the threads of His grand story, He has given each of us a calling.

He has entrusted women with a glorious, but daunting, calling: creating a home for His glory.

In a single day a simple homemaker wears a dizzying array of hats: Chef. Nurse. Teacher. Confidante. Baker. Hair dresser. Friend. Interior decorator. Gardener. Cleaner. Household steward. Therapist. Worshipper.

Sometimes making a home is grueling work. It is always a grand adventure.

This blog is about that adventure.

The adventure is strewn with endless laundry, sleepless nights, stretched faith and missing socks. Hilarious no-reason-necessary toddler laughter echoes over the sibling squabbles.

We are called to build our homes wisely, but there is such freedom in how each woman builds her home! Each home is unique. Each woman paints the strokes in the culture of her home. Your home and mine gloriously distinct.

We balance the competing claims of taste and health, convenience and cost as we experiment and create in the kitchen.

When blessed with marriage, we are called to be the glory and delight of our husbands.

If the patter of small feet fill the home, our energy and sleep and even our bodies are sacrificed as we open a new world before the breathless delight of childhood.
