Summer is around the corner and The Purposeful Mom and I are gearing up for the busyness it holds.
We have been so blessed by the many wonderful posts shared at our weekly link-ups. Thank you to each one of your that has participated!
At least for the summer, we decided to take a break from each posting our own thrifty-themed posts so we could highlight our very favorite posts from the past week.
That has proved to be one hard task! There were so many excellent posts to choose from last week, but here are three of our favorites.
Do you feel like you don’t have the traction you need to pay off loans, put money in savings, or plan for the future? If so, Serving Joyfully’s series on getting out of debt (even on a low income) will be such an encouragement! In this post, she details her family’s monthly budget. (What a brave gal!)
Danielle’s post, Stop Comparing and Enjoy Your Own Life’s Journey, was such an encouragement! So much of the frustration and debt and trouble in America comes from trying to live someone else’s journey! Contentment helps make what we have into enough and teaches us to truly enjoy the path God has given us.
Dandelions must be in season! Last week there were two posts on this lovely little weed. Jill’s Home Remedies shares the amazing health benefits that hide within these humble flowers. Chris, from Joybilee Farms, shared a delicious looking recipe and the best ways to harvest this herb.
Just make sure (if you live in a rental) that the plants haven’t been sprayed. Once we move to a non-pesticided (that should be a word!) home, I cannot wait to try these!

Posts about living frugally, thrifty tips and tricks, money-saving DIY projects and gardening, frugal recipes, and encouraging posts on financial stewardship are all welcome. Link up to either of our blogs–your post will be displayed in both places.
We’d be very grateful if you’d share only thrifty-themed posts. (Read full guidelines here)

Thank you for hosting, Anna!

Thanks, Anna, for featuring my post: Dandelions: Let your food be your medicine. I appreciate it. I’m grabbing your button and adding it to the post with a link back here.
This week I shared our experiment with taking wild fruit and transplanting it into the garden. We live in a really harsh climate with frost any day of the year. My trials with growing normal fruit, have been expensive and fruitless (pun intended). But the wild fruit that thrives on our homestead can be made to produce sweeter, bigger, and more abundant fruit by treating it like garden plants. And the plants are free. The fruit is healthier and more full of antioxidants and flavour.
I hope your readers are inspired.
♥ Chris
Thanks so much Chris. I am constantly inspired by you!
