Crystal (aka the Money Saving Mom) graciously agreed to giveaway two copies of her new book The Money Saving Mom’s Budget. What better way to start our No More Student Loans Giveaways than with her inspiring book?
How Money Saving Mom inspired me
Five years ago, while Joshua filled out law school applications, I did a Google search: “Christian family, get through law school without debt”
I landed on Crystal’s blog and was instantly hooked. Her husband, Jesse, had just graduated law school without any student loans. Crystal’s humble passion for God, wise financial stewardship and extreme generosity were constant encouragement during our law school journey.
During the three long years of law school, Money Saving Mom inspired me to keep scrimping and saving. Over and over I visited her site discouraged and ready to throw in the frugal-towel. I left her blog motivated, reminded that all the sacrifices would be worth it.
Despite many tears and prayers, we weren’t able to completely avoid student loans. But (thanks in large part to Crystal and Jesse’s example), kept them to a bare minimum. Once Joshua started work, we stayed in our tiny home, pouring practically every spare penny toward paying off the loans.
Ten months after graduation, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have our student loans behind us!
Now, back to the review!….
Money Saving Mom’s Budget
When I first heard about Money Saving Mom’s Budget, I thought I didn’t need to read it. (After all, I’d ready every post Crystal had written for over five years!)
I was wrong.
Numerous rave reviews convinced me to buy the book. I cashed in Amazon giftcards and purchased a copy. Money Saving Mom’s Budget was worth every penny.
Crystal condenses over a dozen years of intense financial stewardship and lays out a step-by-step plan that anyone, no matter what their financial state looks like, can follow to turn a “financial mess into financial success”.
Crystal shows you how to set goals, create a workable budget and save thousands of dollars a year.
Even though Money Saving Mom’s Budget is about money (obviously!), amassing more money is not the main theme. Rather, Crystal guides you on a path to become a master of your finances so that you can give freely and make a difference in this world.
Once again, Crystal leads by example. All of her profits from the book sponsor a Child Survival Fund in the Domican Republic and provide life-saving medical care and to 80 at-risk women and children.
If you need encouragement on your financial road, read Crystal’s book! Enter below for your chance to win.
Open to U.S. and Canadian residents. Giveaway closes at 11 p.m. EST on Monday. Winners will be announced Tuesday morning.
Don’t forget to join the rest of the No More Student Loan Giveaways! (And join The Purposeful Mom and me tomorrow for our first Thrifty Thursday Blog Hop!)
