Maybe it’s the memories of growing up with a godly Daddy: of climbing onto his lap for a Bible story or playing outside in leaf forts. Always knowing I could trust him to love and protect me. Maybe it’s the dearth of good daddies. Maybe it’s the tragedy of wicked daddies.
Whatever the reason, few sights send happy tingles down my spine more than watching a little girl look up adoringly at her daddy.
Especially, when it’s my little girl looking at her daddy.
Happy shouts echo through our little house when Joshua comes home. And lately there have been numerous serious discussions between Joshua and his toddler.
About ties.
Joshua joined in the moot court fun at law school. This means hours of practice before energy laden mock arguments … and ties.
Before his first round, he pulled out the ties and teasingly asked Rosalind which he should wear.
“Ummm.”
Long pause, while she put on her most serious big girl expression. “Ummm.”
Deep breath. “That one.”
He put on the yellow tie. Want to guess the first comment out of the judge’s mouth? Yep. “Just have to say man, that’s an awesome tie!”
So, now it’s her special job to pick Daddy’s “lucky tie”.
